STUDY TALK: First JetPens Order & Item Overlook
8:35 PM
So a few weeks ago, I made my first order with JetPens! In case you aren't aware, JetPens is this really cool place that's all about productivity—they sell all sorts of school supplies ranging from things that are unique, helpful, or everyday items you can find in office or school supply stores, but for better prices. Or if not for better prices...then in larger amounts! Some pens you can find in WalMart can be found on JetPens for a little bit of a pricier tag, but for a larger quantity.
I am obsessed with school supplies. Planners, bullet journals, color-coding notes, new pens to help me rewrite notes—I love it all! So I was extremely excited when my boyfriend showed me this site. However, I was out of money...so I had to keep careful watch on myself and make sure the temptation wasn't so high that I was just going to go on a free-for-all shopping spree.
When I finally got the money to order a few things, I made sure I just hit the $25 free shipping mark so that way I wasn't spending too much money that I felt guilty, but that I was also getting items I really wanted and a free shipping. It's a win-win all around. Minus the fact that I was extremely tempted, of course, to just load up my cart with everything and anything spiffy that I laid my eyes upon!
The all-time greatest thing about JetPens, though, is that a lot of it is Japanese. The site advertises itself as a "Japanese Pens & Stationary" site.
Anyway, I'm going to go over what I ordered in greater detail.

The entirety of my order consists of: a Kokuyo FitCurve Mechanical Pencil, two Kokuyo Beetle Tip 3way Highlighter Pens, and a pack of Beverly Kokosasu Film Page Markers.
I rarely use any other highlighter colors except yellow or pink, and sometimes green, so I decided to start off with yellow and pink of this specific type of highlighter. I also wanted to buy the pastel highlighters found on the site...but that will be for next time.
In this item overlook, I won't be talking much about the film page markers, unfortunately. I'm out of school until next month and I won't have much of a reason to use them quite yet...so I'm not about to tear open that cute little package and start using the page markers. From the general gist, though, the Beverly Kokosasu Film Page Markers come in different styles. When I looked at them all, I figured the arrows would be the most useful to me (there are adorable cats and birds, though). Basically, if you can see from the picture I've given, the tip tears off and is translucent—which means you can stick it anywhere on the page that there is important info you need to remember, and leave the long part of the arrow as a page marker tab! I thought that was super cool.
KOKUYO FITCURVE MECHANICAL PENCIL
One, please excuse my photobombed kitten paw that made a cameo in the picture. Two, I apologize that you can't really see my writing in this picture! However, I assure you that this mechanical pencil writes really nicely. It's really smooth and doesn't smudge. I literally sat and rubbed the sticky note I wrote on with my finger to see if it would. It takes 0.5mm lead. It comes in three colors: Blue, Clear Blue, and Clear Pink. I chose to get Clear Blue. The pencil is also very comfortable in my hand. My main thing about choosing this pencil, despite its pretty color (honestly I'm more of a purple pencil kinda person but I made an exception) is the fact that JetPens carries eraser refills.
No matter if I buy my pens from Staples or WalMart—I cannot for the life of me find eraser refills for mechanical pencils anymore! They used to be so easy to get in stores when I was younger. In fact, I remember my father have a stockpile of them because he'd buy them all at once since he erased so much. But as I got older his stock slowly depleted...and now I'm having the same trouble he had. I can't find erasers. And I really despite buying new pencils just because I need an eraser.
On another note, I'm beyond excited to use this pencil! I've heard great things about Asia's office supplies!
KOKUYO BEETLE TIP 3WAY HIGHLIGHTER PEN

I ordered the Kokuyo Beetle Tip 3way Highlighters in two colors, as mentioned above: Pink and yellow. Because I don't really use many other colors but those. I do have some Dong-A Jet Sticks from South Korea that I have in multiple colors, and those are probably the only highlighters I use in all colors because they don't leak through and they don't smudge. We'll see how these Kokuyo highlighters work!
These highlighters come in blue, green, yellow, orange, and pink—like any standard highlighter. The reason I wanted these highlighters so bad, though, over the pastel highlighters is the fact that I hate using highlighters. I like coding things as I study and work, and normal highlighters are just too thick to simply underline a sentence only. And highlighting more than one sentence takes away from the actual act of studying. On top of that, it makes your page a complete mess of ink.

These highlighters are, as stated in the name, a 3-way tip. There is a 5mm, 3mm, and 1mm tip. Depending on how you hold the highlighter, you can either underline, highlight fully, or highlight above and below the sentence.
To the right is what the tip looks like. There's a diagram on the website that explains the tip measurements in better detail (because from the picture, it only looks like two tips), but basically the flat edge or the tips themselves are where the measurements are taken.
Also, again, sorry for my kitten Ghost photobombing everything. He likes playing with my utensils when I'm studying, and today he noticed that I got some new playthings.
Well...this wasn't a very informational post, in my opinion. I just wanted to talk about the new items that I ordered! I definitely suggest working with JetPens. I will admit, if you do get free shipping or don't pay the extra money for a good shipping service, you get stuck with standard mail shipping. For the United States, that means USPS. Which is utterly terrible. I won't even go into the problems I've had with USPS in the past—but I will say that this package was late. Ten days late, in fact. That's over a week. This time around, I finally got fed up with USPS and made an account online so that I could specify a delivery type.
However, the mailing has nothing to do with JetPens. They're great, in my opinion. I just want to warn everyone to watch out for whoever your mail carrier is.
Happy Studying!
